What We Evaluate

Label facts – product name, brand, front-of-pack claims (e.g. “BPA-free”)
Full ingredient list extracted from your photos
Nine evidence-based risk domains
allergy / sensitivities · stomach / gut upset · headaches / neurological · metabolic · hormone / endocrine · cancer risk · heart health · skin irritation / clogging · positive nutrition & formulation boosts

How Ingredients Are Rated

  1. Extract every ingredient name from the photos.
  2. Match each ingredient to scientific and regulatory risk databases.
  3. Tag the ingredient with any known or suspected concerns in the nine domains.
  4. Weight those concerns by severity and typical exposure.
  5. Apply extra deductions for “Dirty List” items (e.g. Red 40, Parabens) and small bonuses for clear positives (e.g. BPA-free).

Rolling Up to One Score

  • All nine domains are balanced, so a single weak spot doesn’t automatically sink the product.
  • The algorithm outputs one number from 0 to 100.

Score Scale

• 76–100 — Excellent
• 51–75 — Low Concern
• 26–50 — Moderate Concern
• 0–25 — High Concern

Why You Can Trust It

  • No payments from brands — ratings cannot be bought.
  • Transparent tags — every score shows the ingredient flags behind it.
  • Science-led — risk library is built on peer-reviewed studies and updated continuously.
  • Holistic — considers both negatives and positives for a fair view.
